Mumbai, June 10, 2024 – The second phase of the Mumbai Coastal Road, a significant infrastructure project aimed at alleviating traffic congestion, was inaugurated on Monday by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This new stretch of road promises to drastically reduce travel time between Marine Drive and Haji Ali to just eight minutes, a remarkable improvement from the previous 40 to 50 minutes.
The north-bound arm of the Rs 13,000 crore project was opened in a ceremony that also saw the participation of Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. The dignitaries marked the occasion by driving a vintage Rolls Royce, symbolizing the blend of Mumbai's rich history and its progressive future.
